Also they took out vehicles. Sounds like they want to push DLC on people to make as much money as possible. They tried a map pack with FC2 and nobody bought it cause there are thousands of free user maps. If they were smart, they would have made DLC for the editor, as games like LittleBigPlanet did. If thats the case though, I'll be boycotting this game and would advise you all to do the same. I've been a FC fan since the beginning and I know the only GOOD reason to play FC has been the map editor. It would be a shame if this happens. FC has always been the only shooter with an accessible and versatile map editor, but now it's turning into CoD in the jungle. |
About half of the CoD games have had at least 1 mission taking place in a jungle. Maybe it's just turning in to CoD with a map editor. I'd prefer mod tools for BF3 but i think i'd stick with Skyrim's creation kit and maybe the L4D2/Source SDK |
The problem with the creation kit and Source SDK is that it takes a [CENSORED] load of work to make anything. The FC editor has always been simple to use. Even my best maps only took around 10 hours to make, whereas the single fucking room of the cave I've been working on in Skyrim has taken me well over that... and I still don't know how to fix my fucking water. _________________

Something to take more pride in. It pays off in the end when you see it all coming together. I'm not sure i'd like the FC editor, or really any editor that I can't create something in and enjoy it by myself, if it's even just to look at it. FC would be multiplayer maps, i'd think, which requires quite a few people to get going and enjoy it. For L4D2 i just kind of want to make 1 spot or so where 4 of us would have to see how long we can last against a never ending horde or something. Not the survival mode or the finales in the campaign, just 1 building, maybe several stories tall with a long street leading to it, covered in abandoned vehicles and shit. Maybe they'd all just come from the street or maybe several sides of the building should be weak, if it's too easy.
and Skyrim, i know i want to help you with your quest ideas. But i also want to try to replicate something i can imagine pretty vividly, from the book series i read, of course.
edit --
About the water, try removing light sources 1 at a time, find the source causing the problem and tweak it bit by bit to see if it fixes. _________________

I always loved pulling a piece of metal out of my leg after almost drowning lol.
As for the lightning in the water, Soliox, it seems to be the sun thats being reflected. I'm sure it's a very simple fix... but there are just no good tutorials out there to guide you through anything. Even the Bethesda tutorials are just basic stuff. _________________

Keep in mind, the vehicles, AI and placeable weapons will NOT be usable in the multiplayer. If you place any of them down , it will instantly invalidate your map for publishing.
Pretty stupid as far as vehicles go, but the editor itself looks very nice. Multiplayer looking pretty good as well.
Ill be getting this game on PC and urge anyone with a PC to keep on eye on this game. _________________
